Navaratna Kritis

For the 400^th Anniversary of Purandaradasa, in the year 1964, nine kritis of Purandaradasa were selected and named 'Navaratna Maalika' for group singing (Goshti Gayana). Today, around the world, for Purandara Aradhana, these Navaratna Keertanas of Purandaradasa are sung with the same raaga and taala to make it consistent for singers and listeners to have a pleasant experience. Carnatic musicians though-out the world are adhere to this great practice.
