Purandara Navaratna Keerthanas

Saint Purandara Dasa (1484-1564) is popularly known as the father figure (pitaamaha) of Carnatic music. He is known as the creator of the basic system of teachings in Carnatic music. Purandaradasa was one of the greatest hari keerthana composers too. It is believed that Purandaradasa composed thousands of songs, but as of now, there are nearly 1500 kritis available today. There are many keerthanas of Purandaradasa that made the Kannada Saint Literature (dasa sahitya) and bhakti movement very rich.
